The emphasis is on being made to feel welcome and included and in turn we hope this will encourage a love of the sport that is developed and nurtured over the years. At Burnham Beeches Golf Club, we recognise the benefits golf provides to the younger generation, both physically and mentally, providing them with lifelong skills.
We offer coaching and training and skills development and we are very proud to have several juniors who play at County level, within our junior membership. What better way to get active and improve fitness than by taking up a sport which can be played and enjoyed now and for years to come.
Burnham Beeches is designated as a BB&O Talent Development Centre and our Junior members benefit from a full calendar of events across twelve months of the year. Group coaching sessions take place on Sunday afternoons throughout the year run by our team of PGA Professionals and supported by our Junior Committee. Additional individual coaching can be arranged on request with our Professional team.
As a club we are dedicated to providing opportunities for girls to get involved in golf. Through the “Girls Golf Rocks” scheme beginner girls aged 5-18 can learn to play golf in a fun and friendly way. As our Juniors develop from beginners to more advanced players they are provided with a number of opportunities to compete both individually and as part of our Junior teams.
Monthly competitions are organised by our Junior Committee with highlights each year being our four “Junior Majors” and our Junior Club Championship.
We enter teams into two Junior Golf Leagues each year. For our younger Juniors we compete in a local GolfSixes League, an exciting and innovative playing format for juniors getting started in golf. GolfSixes Leagues are run across the UK by the Golf Foundation and involve teams of 6, playing six holes in pairs using the highly inclusive Texas Scramble format.
Our older more advanced Juniors have the opportunity to represent Burnham Beeches in the Chiltern Junior Golf League (affiliated with the Bucks, Berks & Oxon Union of Golf Clubs). The Chiltern League consists of eight local Golf Clubs who play each other once during the season.
We have a thriving Junior membership here at Burnham Beeches Golf Club and always welcome new members to the club with open arms.
If you are interested in joining us we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact the club office at golf@bbgc.co.uk for Junior organisers contact details and a copy of the Junior membership application form.
